Kotrás is a family business in Debrecen we became known as the hats in Debrecen, this is our name, this name is still alive and well, our own Hungarian products still bear this brand name, now after my father, Zoltán Kotrás. Since when? Wow! 1895!!! It started with my great-grandfather, who was also a cap maker, and Kotrás, and then the craft and the name was passed down from father to son, until my brother and I we were able to be born a girl. And the craft as a cap maker had ceased, leaving us with further education and a name. And then our hearts pulled us back into the company after all. The master with the cap title was the last one my dad got, and he still shows me the ropes. And then we have the Barett

… Nowadays we don’t only sell our own caps, we opened our 2nd shop in Debrecen after our small cap shop. We also imported several big foreign cap brands for the first time in the country, and we started to deal with men’s and women’s outerwear. Our products since then include Fraas scarves, Olymp shirts, ties, Austrian and German women’s outerwear. Our main profile remains hats and caps. We then became a limited company, which became Barett , yes, a cap type, I brought it with me to Pest. Here it is on the sign, but we will carry on our name as long as we can, in our hearts, if it’s a cap, it’s Kotrás.
