What are the styles of men's hats?
Traveller style:
The traveller style men’s hat is a sportier, more casual wear, doesn’t require a smart jacket, can be worn with a short jacket or leather jacket. We recommend it for those who are still averse to the classic, more elegant hat, but don’t want to wear a cap anymore. For autumn and winter we recommend the wool or rabbit fur traveller hat, for summer the straw version with a sporty, elegant leather strap.
Classic style:
The classic style men’s hat has a down front and a flared back with a larger brim. A style to match a long fabric coat and a smart style. An increasingly popular hat type among young people, it is now back in fashion.
There is a full wide-brimmed version of this style, which represents an even more elegant style, worn by a true “Mr. Hat”. Black is the most popular colour, but it is also a favourite in brown and grey. It is made of rabbit fur and wool for winter and straw for summer.
A floppy hat:
Traditional, old-style, small-edged men’s hat for those who prefer simpler lines. Unobtrusive, solid style. Originally a favourite of older gentlemen, but now popular with young people too. Like all old styles, it is enjoying a renaissance. For winter it can be made of rabbit fur, fabric or wool, for summer of linen and straw.
Soft hat:
A soft version of the floppy hat, it is popular for its sporty wear, washability and packability. It is made of wool for winter, corduroy for autumn and linen for summer.
Top hat: Nowadays, this type of hat has lost its importance, but it is still a popular choice for men when it comes to casual wear. Worn with a nice tails or tuxedo, it can be worn for an even more elegant effect. If you’re wearing a top hat, you can also go for white gloves, a white silk scarf and a walking stick if you want to achieve the perfect harmony in your outfit. For balls, carnivals and theatres, this prestigious hat is an essential accessory. Black is the most popular colour.
Tough hat:
The Bowler brothers patented the hat and this style. The true English bowler hat was introduced in 1849, and was at the forefront of hat fashion for almost 100 years after the top hat. Many people associate the bowler hat with C. Chaplin, although he was born in 1889, 40 years after the invention of the bowler hat.Apart from Chaplin’s The Tramp, other major films have also featured the bowler hat: The Adventures of Tintin, The Hard Hat and the Potato Nose, Monthy Phyton, Batman, etc. Nowadays, this very nice hat is more of a carnival and theatre accessory, but is also beginning to reappear as street wear.
Cowboy hat:
Everybody remembers Jockie Ewing, and if you remember him, you certainly remember his hat. He brought this particular hat back into fashion, and men still adore this beautiful, truly masculine style. You can wear it on the street, it’s a head-turner, it’s a hat that will be admired. The hat is made of rabbit fur. Popular in black and hazel. It can be decorated with various badges and straps. This type also has a summer version in canvas and straw.
